Alex Townshend BSc (Hons) MBACP
I hold an Honours Degree in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy from Roehampton University and am accredited with the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy). After my study I worked for the NHS in primary care for several years and this is ongoing.
Subsequently I joined the private sector, seeing clients for the Priory Group, and more recently Nuffield Health. I started Talking Treatment 3 Years ago to expand my own client base and it has proved so successful, I have had to invite well trained and experienced associates to join this growing Practice, with the aim of providing the best possible professional standards in counselling and psychotherapy for clients.
I use an Integrative approach, which includes Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic and Existential approaches; this facilitates a more flexible approach to the emotional/psychological problems presented, in order to give the client the best possible talking treatment for their needs. However, whatever approach is used, the treatment is underpinned by a relational / interpersonal process between client and therapist.
I treat a variety of emotional and psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, stress management, post-natal depression, addictions, eating disorders, trauma, childhood sexual abuse, loss and bereavement, and problematic family conflicts such as difficult relationships, separations and divorce.
New clients are currently seen from my Private Practice in Wandsworth, London SW18 and Central London.
Gary Baker Dip. Couns. Dip. CBT. MBACP
I am accredited with the BACP and currently see clients for individual counselling at my private practice in the Nine Elms area of Battersea.
I am an associate counsellor for Nuffield Health and a private healthcare provider for Aviva and Prudential Health. I have worked with adults and adolescents in various settings since 2011. These include working with The Priory, Roehampton as a counsellor and providing a counselling service within a NHS setting for a GP’s surgery in South London.
I offer counselling for individuals covering issues such as: Abuse, anger management, anxiety, stress, bereavement, bullying, coaching, depression, fear of flying, low self-worth, managing change, relationship difficulties, sex and sexuality.
My approach adopts and integrates various psychotherapeutic models strongly influenced by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to work with your concerns. Central to my way of working is the therapeutic relationship, as developing a strong and trusting relationship is fundamental if the counselling is going to work.
New clients are seen from my private practice in Battersea Nine Elms, London SW8.
Gill Sanders UKCP and ATSAC accredited: BACP. Accredited Supervisor COSRT. BUPA reg.
I am a Psychosexual and Relationship Psychotherapist and have been in private practice for over twenty five years.
My belief is that the relationship between the client/s and the therapist is the most important therapeutic tool and I would encourage you to find someone with whom you feel comfortable.
My areas of expertise are when sex stops in long term relationships or just stops, kink practices and how to incorporate them into sexual relationships, and individual loss of libido.
I am also interested in attachment styles and how and why we are attracted to and attach ourselves to a certain type of person. It is useful to see how these patterns emerge and where they originate.
I see couples and individuals and offer short or long term work depending on how you would like to work with me.
New clients are seen from South West London, Wandsworth/Battersea borders.
Hillary O’Neill BA (Hons) MBACP
I am an accredited member of the BACP and hold a BA (Hons) in integrative counselling. As well as counselling I trained as a Life Coach at Coaches Training Institute (CTI) using a style of coaching which motivates an individual to reach their full potential as well as exploring ways of ensuring more balance and fulfilment in their lives.
Acknowledging that each client is different, I take an integrative approach to counselling which draws on and combines a range of therapies. By being open minded in this way, I can help you to understand the nature of your challenges and together we can develop practical strategies to overcome problems. I have also completed further training programs on the subjects of phobias, Mindfulness (which is proven in its effectiveness when dealing with anxiety, depression and stress) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, (looking at how negative thought patterns affect the way we feel and act), insomnia, infertility, anger problems, panic disorder, Psychosexual therapy, Obsessive-compulsive Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder.
Thanks to my work and life experience, both in business and not-for-profit organisations I feel I can relate to clients from a range of backgrounds.
New clients are seen from my private practice in Putney SW15 and Wimbledon Village SW19.
